Maria Lo Orzel - Producer

A well regarded film executive, Maria Lo-Orzel began her entertainment career at Home Box Office in the United States. She broke new frontiers during eight years as Regional Vice President of United International Pictures' Southeast Asia marketing operation. UIP was the international distribution arm of Paramount, Universal and MGM/UA.

Most recently, Ms. Lo-Orzel has served as Creative Consultant to high-profile directors and producers like Zhang Yimou (HERO, Curse of the Golden Flower) and Bill Kong (Windstruck, Fearless). Her involvement covers a wide range of Chinese, English and Korean films.

Ms. Lo-Orzel is Producer of “Eclipse of the Heart”, which begins principal photography in Winter 2011.  She is also Producer of “Far Away Eyes”, a noir thrillerstarring Will Yun Lee and Miguel Ferrer.  Also on her producing slate are ”Uncommon Honour” and ”FAST Company”, now under active development.    

 

Stanley J. Orzel - Writer/Director

A graduate of the prestigious Newhouse School at Syracuse University, Stanley Orzel produced, wrote and directed numerous award-winning documentaries and TV commercials in Asia, Europe and the United States.

His ground-breaking documentary “Gateway to the Future” was a multiple award winner.  “Lesson One” won the Gold Award at the Houston Worldfest. “Noi.  Il Passato. Il Futuro…” was an award winning Italian documentary.

Recently Stanley Orzel has focused his creative energy on writing and creative consulting.  As Creative Consultant, he has worked on such international feature films as “Hero”, “Zhou Yu’s Train”, “The Uninvited” and “Windstruck”.

His screenplay “Sleeping Dogs Lie”, a noir thriller, was a finalist at the Austin Film Festival.   He has also written “Eclipse of the Heart”, a haunting love story, which will be directed by Gillies MacKinnon in Winter 2011.

“Far Away Eyes”, a dramatic thriller set in Hong Kong, marks his feature film directorial debut.
